Complete renovation of the kitchen, utility & shower room

Period property Near Wallingford

Starting with a full showroom consultation, this project consisted of a complete renovation of the kitchen, utility, shower room and flooring throughout the ground floor.

Kitchen and utility

This client required a complete modernisation and installation. This involved a total rethink of the layout and feel of the room, while trying to keep the cottage character of the house but in a contemporary style.

We wanted to make the low ceilings work for this compact space. In order to achieve this, we designed and altered the kitchen cabinets/materials to bring them to the complete height of the room. This both utilised the storage in a relatively small space and made the space look well proportioned. Also using a bold coloured kitchen, we kept the tiled flooring and walls (Walls and Floors | Leading Tile Specialists | Low Prices on Tiles) a lighter colour, which made the space feel bright and airy

Using the Princeton indigo shaker door from Symphony Kitchens (Kitchens – Princeton – Gallery, Milano – The Symphony Group PLC (symphony-group.co.uk)), we felt really struck the perfect balance between retaining that traditional cottage feel, while totally bringing the kitchen up to date with the current trends to create this beautiful, light space.

Shower room

Again, a complete rethink of a compact bathroom. We installed a large walkin shower with a conveniently placed concealed dual outlet valve and ultra low profile shower tray. This beautiful fitted furniture from Montrose furniture (Montrose Furniture | Inspirational Bathroom Furniture) provided plenty of storage and the LVT flooring (www.palioexpress.com) offered that traditional wood look without the maintenance associated when using real wood in a bathroom.

This project included a full ripout, breaking up previous tiled floor covering, floor relevelling (screeded), gas supply alterations, full replastering, electrics, kitchen/bathroom installation and decoration.

Given the age of this property, we feel privileged to have worked on this project from conception to completion, we are very proud of the standard of design and workmanship.
